It covers Bristol Township in Bucks County. In the first phase, the school district closed nine elementary schools and replaced them with three new, larger elementary schools. The closed properties are being sold while the former Clara Barton Elementary School has been turned into the school district's administration complex.Bristol Township School District is a public school district located in Levittown, Pennsylvania (U.S.). The project is in the second phase of the district's plans to replace or renovate its schools to upgrade their educational technology as well as their physical structures and heating and ventilation equipment, using more energy-saving equipment. The school board approved the project at its November board meeting but held a hearing on its decision at its December meeting and accepted comments from the public until mid January. ![]() Chris Jensen, a civil engineer for the project, said they were being addressed. ![]() Council President Cindy Murphy said there was a concern with traffic congestion along the road. The approval was conditional on outstanding issues being resolved, including plans to add new left-turn lanes to Mill Creek Road. It also includes major site improvements on the property at 6401-6501 Mill Creek Road to realign the traffic flow so that bused students are not dropped off at the same location as students being driven to the school and to make improvements to the school's athletic fields. The plan includes a 38,000-square foot addition, brining the school's footprint to 156,490 square feet. Bristol Township Council gave final subdivision and land development approval Thursday to the township school district's plan to build additions to the now closed Benjamin Franklin Middle School as part of a $53.9 million project to renovate and reopen the school. ![]()
